YaYa and Her Wrap

YaYa @ the Harlem YMCA reading to the Kids.
We see it all the time, it's something about the female who wears a head wrap that just screams positive. Seems like she's in touch with her roots, they all seem to hold a natural beauty. Well 2 years ago this week I started my dread locks. It's been a hard and long process. Finding different ways to avoid the 50 plus dollars to get them done, The locks merging together to make one chicken foot dread. It's crazy, but I must say it's been truly liberating achieving the length and hang time of my hair.

Hair is so important. I tells apart of your story. what you are feeling. Unkept, curled, straight.. They are all mood related.
I only curl my hair to step out on the town. It takes me a good 15 minutes.. But I do spend way to much on my hair products but as a woman it makes me feel good.

Not much, baby. I've been locked up for almost seven years, just posted about that as a matter of fact. I may throw some Nature's Blessings in it, or some olive oil or coconut oil...then, I'm OUT!
Peace.

When I had a perm which was years ago.I tried to keep up with it.Then I shaved the perm off and started fresh...and natural has been doing all right. For the most part it's out in a fro or it's in a pony tail or I may just get hood and put a scarf on it.

LE SIGh! I grew my hair out naturally hoping to do some positive things with it. My hair is a quandary, it to fine and straight to wear in a blow out...too curly and nappy to wear naturally! SMCh...I let it do what it do!

cool blog! well it depends how much new growth I have. I had dreadlocks for 4 years, they were almost to inside of my shoulder,b4 i cut them off.
I immediately went into a perm w/out adverse repercussions. I usually wear a ponytail now that it's grown out. but I'm thinking of bobbing it out.
I've reached a point in my life, that I'll wear my hair AS I SEE FIT...and not relent to people's opinions of how I should wear my hair...it's extremely liberating..as u know.
