You Tell Me... By Auntie M

If every time you ate mushrooms you became nauseus, how many times do you think you would have to eat them before avoiding them completely? And would it matter what kind of mushroom it was or would you avoid all mushrooms just to be safe?

If every time you went to the doctor you had a negative experience, how long would it take before you associated the doctor with negativity? Would that negative association extend to all physicians? Or would it be a specialty specific association?

If every time you got into a car you got into an accident, how long would it be before you stopped driving? Would you stop driving only a certain type of car? Or would you give up driving completely?

And let's say that based on these scenarios you gave up all mushrooms, had a negative association with all physicians, and stopped driving all together, could anyone blame you for that? Would you be considered a bitter person? Or would you be considered someone who changed their lifestyle based on their very real experience?

So let's apply that same line of thinking elsewhere...

If a man avoids women because the majority of his experiences with women has been negative and hurtful, is he wrong? If a woman decides to avoid men all together because of frequent and overwhelming negative associations with them, would that woman be making a logical choice based on her very real experience? Or would she just be bitter?...You tell me.
