Last week during the Roc4Life Blogger Photoshoot, I had a discussion w/ Low Key of BET, Aura of ATF and the Fly Guys of SFPL and we had a nice debate about The Dream’s album vs Trey’s Mixtape Anticipation. Y’all remember Drake’s now infamous Blackberry freestyle on Funk Flex’s show on Hot 97 right? Well Affion Crockett of Nick Cannon’s ‘Wild N’ Out’ fame spoofs the Degrassi star in his latest video (spotted @ Nahright) Ohhh the hilariousness that is this video. You really can’t appreciate the humor of the video unless you’ve watched the original…. He killed me with the eye brows … good lord!

I think it’s safe to say that Trey Songz is one of the only R&B singers with enough street credibility to drop a mixtape. I think after that DOA R.Kelly diss, Trey Songz got more respect from people. Not to mention the fact that he’s changed so much. It’s like he cut his braids, dressed better, got some confidence somewhere and became sexy as hell….

Musically, I’m currently in a creative space like no other. I feel as though whenever a mic is put in front of me, I can do no wrong. At a time in the music industry where album sales are low, fans are fickle, inconsistent, or more into the various songs than they are the particular artist, I feel that I must give u a reason to love me. Embed in you a desire to love me and an appreciation for the music. I must show you that not only do I LOVE what I do but I also do it well.

The creation of ANTICIPATION began after I presented READY to my label the first time. I just started recording on my days off and the music felt great and decided that I’d rather share the music than let it sit and be idle. This is music without politics, without creative boundaries.
