If you follow the urban gossip blogs than you know Russell Simmons’ girlfriend Julie Henderson wrote a blog that caused a big stir around the net. Well Katie Rost has written blog that well… You can read it for yourself.

I’ve been known to throw vulgarities around at people with whom I found myself engaged in conflict (a.k.a: I get wasted and talk sh*t to peeps). On occasions such as these the mind struggles to be creative.
One of my favorite insults is calling a White girl (insert slurred words): “You stupid, White, stringy haired bit*ch”. My best friend Rachel loves it when I start throwing that one around.

Kimora Lee Simmons on Russell Simmons x Fatherhood07.16.08

My home girl Martine from Allthatsfab.com caught up with Kimora Lee Simmons and spoke to her about a bunch of things from Fashion to the brand of clothes she won’t put on her kids. But the thing that caught me the most was when she spoke of Russell, its obvious she knows a good dad when she has one.

I couldn’t ask for a better father [for my kids]. I’ve been through a lot. I know that women everywhere especially with kids know what I’m saying and it’s difficult when you go through a little bit of a break up or situation in your family–and it’s helping me to find a supportive system and be able to work it out and move on and I think I’m doing that in style. ~ Kimora Lee

Barack Obama Is Cool With Jay-Z & Russell Simmons06.26.08

It’s been no secret that Obama likes Jay-Z, he recently told Rolling Stone that Jay-Z is his Ipod. I just can picture Obama on Air Force One singing Jay-Z line, “And if Al Sharpton is speaking to me somebody give him the word that we don’t approve”. Obama spoke on hip hop as well saying:

The Illinois senator has praised the pair as “great talents and great businessmen”, insisting he’s happy to have the support of the duo in the upcoming November (08) election.
But Obama admits he still has reservations about the current state of music in the U.S., and hopes the industry will begin to take its cues from the business-minded music duo.
He says of his concerns of hip-hop culture: “I am troubled sometimes by the misogyny and materialism of a lot of rap lyrics, but I think the genius of the art form has shifted the culture and helped to desegregate music.
“It would be nice if I could have my daughters listen to their music without me worrying that they were getting bad images of themselves.” Source

So for the Intellectuals with swagger out there remain cool.
