It is on and popping. Tonight in New York City I will be having one of the best parties of the year. My man DJ Genius will be spinning the hottest tunes, The lovely ladies of the Digital Glam Squad will be in the house giving out free shots of Patron, and Patron and Pineapple gang will be in the house getting toasted and your boy Xilla will be on a few tables dancing and clowning around. Mika Means held her birthday party last week @ Pure and man! It was so wild that it took me a few days to recover just to be able to write the blog! The party was nice, a lot of fine ladies and surprise performances. Mika performed her new song “Spend Yo Money” much to the delight of the women in the crowd who got in for free and got drunk for free. Lloyd came on stage and sang a song for his new label mate Mika Means.

Then J. Holiday came out and blessed the crowd with his song BED. I never in my life seen an R&B singer rock a crowd with a newport cigarette in his hand but he managed to do it.

You’ve probably been reading about Monica a lot lately, talking about “bloggers who are quick to jump on the bandwagon when things are presented to them” to love and her favorite sexual position. But, last night we got to see Monica recording her Single “Still Standing.” The show was entertaining, as the highlight of the show was Monica hearing the Still Standing song for the first time, and wow… I felt for her. I felt for her because I, like most of you, grew up with Monica. So I laughed when she said she didn’t want a dance song, because we know she can’t dance, we knew felt her when she was stern in her choice of songs because we understand that this might be the last chance for her and there is no coming back from a failed attempt. It has to be right. 

The song is fly we love it because we’ve been riding with Monica since she was having just one of those days. We grew up with her, she is our first crush, or our sister. She is from an era when all we had was Brandy, Aaliyah and her. We knew the boy was hers. Still Standing is the perfect song to lead this album.

The Family Guy will write off its one black character next year in order to give him his own show. Wait it gets better. He moves to Virginia to be with his High School sweetheart who is played by the lovely Sanaa Lathan. Despite the fact that she’s a tad bit stuck up in real life, and she believes in black stereotypes I would still do her. The show also will have the voice over talents of Nia Long as well, I wonder if they were practicing their voices at JD’s All White Party this weekend in Atlanta?
