Every now and then you come across something which restores the life back into things. J-Biz is bring Hip Hop back to its roots. Check Out What he has to say.

Where you from?

North Jersey, Elizabeth(Eastwick) and Newark area. Born in the Bricks, raised in the Wick.

What would you bring to the hip hop game?

Reality, originality, that old-school vibe of fly-intellegent shit.

Your Flow is so Hip Hop what has made you stay in touch w/ the heart of hip hop?
I guess i never loss connection w/ the root of the culture, u know? I keep it classic in my approach to make good music.

On Hey Ladies you say you seen ms. Cartoon Booty, are you a ass man?
Hell yeah!,… i like a big soft round one. Good for smackin’. Show n prove?…ask my wis’.

You also say “you’re not avg gentlemen” what sets you apart from the others?
I mean, i’m a really cool cat; laid back, but strong and firm at the same time. I keeps it the realest… i don’t play games.

Lyrically your style is more complex than the everyday rapper, what made you stay w/ the complex rhymes and not dumb it down like Lupe?
Wow, i like Lupe for the record. But for me, i look at it like; a “M.C.” is gonna say what he wanna say, not what he thinks u wanna hear. Not like a “rapper” which kinda operates the opposite way. There’s a difference between being a rapper and an M.C.

When I listen to Science it brings me back to the golden age of hip hop like right before biggie dropped. What was your mindset when you wrote that song?
That song was ill,…i was in N.Y. (visiting), and my boy Ras had given me some beats…i picked that one right away. The day after next we had a session at the lab. So for like two days i couldn’t think of any rhymes for it. So i said fuck it and hung out all weekend. Night b4 the session, i came back to my cousin’s house i was stayin w/, smoked a bone at his kitchen table, and wrote the first verse….after that i was off and runnin’, and finished it in the lab. I got on my NYC game for that one.

IS there anyone you would want to work with?
Hmmm…ill producers like Primo, Madlib, Doom, Marko Polo (which i’m working on getting), and Alchemist. M.C.-wise, maybe just Redman or Kieth Murray, that dude Strickland, and Wise Intellegent. I’m doin’ a joint w/ the God Lord Jamar soon too. And there’s alot of underground niggas that aren’t too known, but i’ll fuck w/ heavy.

If you were Gov of Jersey what changes would you make?

“Legalize it.” Nawww,…i’m buggin’. Honestly, i would do more community relief efforts. Gangs are out of control in my area and i feel like the youth just needs alternatives to crime and bullshit. Single mothers w/ daycare bills that are ridiculous, that shit needs to stop too. “They got money for wars, but can’t feed the poor.” -2Pac

You were featured in XXL how did that come about?
My boy Ras presented his EP to a journalist friend of his, the EP was dope, but the dude really liked my joint that was featured on it called “Everday”. He gave us a nice review in his ‘personal picks’ section. When i saw it…, well actually i heard about it first, than i saw it in the 7Eleven, and i was buggin. Next time i’mma be on the cover, fuck that.

What plans do you have in store in for 2008?
More bangas…more real hip-hop, more tours & shows, and a phat distrubution deal so i can reach all my real Hip-Hop heads! Elevate for ‘08, that’s how we doin’ it. PEACE!!!!!!!!
