The Obamania: High On Barack01.25.09

Right now I have mixed emotions, on one hand I seen a dream come true on the other hand I’m digusted that NY drug dealers are pushing Obama herion.

Add heroin to the scores of products that have been branded with President Barack Obama’s name. Cops in upstate New York this week broke up a drug ring that allegedly sold heroin under several brand names, including “Obama.” As seen in Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office photos, the president’s surname was stamped in red ink on small glassine wrappers that were peddled by street dealers.

What would make a person even buy some stuff like that, I mean would a person actually think that if they took those drugs they would become president? I mean really. Anyway on a brighter note the campaign released some pictures of Michelle and Barack before he was sworn into office, more pics under the jump.

The Most Powerful Man In The World01.21.09

We were a silent, hidden thought in the folds of oblivion, and we have become a voice that causes the heavens to tremble.

There is no doubt that due to the work of Martin Luther King and other civil rights activist, that Jan 20th 2009 would not have been possible. The swearing in of the nation’s first Black President, not a descendant of slaves, but Black nonetheless. Tuesday in my extreme joy, I sent out a tweet stating that when you go to sleep and close your eyes do so, knowing that the most powerful man in the world is a Black man. So which someone replies “Wrong, MLK was that first…” I paraphrase, but basically he stated Martin Luther King was the most powerful man in the world when he was alive. With all due respect to Dr. King, but he was far from the most powerful man in the world..

What do you think, Who was more powerful? Martin Luther King or Barack Obama?

Barack + Michelle Obama – The First Dance01.20.09

Obamas dance

Simply Beautiful. I can’t imagine what was going through Beyonce’s mind at the moment all I know is she looked like she wanted to break down. As the first couple danced they panned the room and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was simply beautiful. I only wish she would let me love her like Barack Obama loves Michelle Obama. If you don’t have B’s version of At Last here you go.

Obama’s Remarks at the Neighboorhood ball

“This campaign was organized neighborhood by neighborhood,” said Obama, calling himself a neighborhood kind of guy – at a ball in the Washington Convention Center where tickets were dispensed for little cost to a lot of people. He cut his teeth on neighborhood work, he told the crowd.

“And if you think about it, neighborhood starts with neighbor,” Obama said. “This ball is the one which captures best, I think, the spirit of this campaign… We are going to need you… because together we are going to change America.” Source

Barack Obama In NYC01.16.09

When Obama’s journey to the presidency first began, you couldn’t tell Black people anything. All I heard was he isn’t Black enough, or America isn’t ready for a Black president. Yet, after a long and hard fought battle we are only a short time away from watching the nation swear in it’s first African-American president. It’s a beautiful thing, it truly is. Not everyone can’t make it to DC to be there for the inauguration, but if you’re in the NY area you can still be apart of history on Jan 20th and have your picture taken with the President. Well sort of according to Madame Tussauds website:

Stand face-to-face and have your historical photo taken with President Barack Obama. A former United States Senator from Illinois and civil rights attorney; January 20, 2009 he will become the nation’s first African American to be a elected President of the United States. Join us as we celebrate history in the making and launch a historical president set in a replica of the Oval Office!

I think I might have to hit this up on Monday.

Barack The Magic Negro12.26.08

This is what happens when you stop paying attention. The Republicans go ahead and remake Puff the Magic Dragon into Barack The Magic Negro. They say that he’ hasn’t been in the street like the rest of us… It’s a white guy pretending to be Black, giving a rant about how Obama isn’t a… well a real n*gga, claiming Snoop Dogg or Farrakhan is what a Black people represent.

The song, set to the tune of “Puff the Magic Dragon,” was first played on conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in 2007.

Its title was drawn from a Los Angeles Times column that suggested President-elect Barack Obama appealed to those who feel guilty about the nation’s history of mistreatment of African-Americans. Saltsman said the song, penned by his longtime friend Paul Shanklin, should be easily recognized as satire directed at the Times. Source

Candidate #5 – Jesse Jackson Jr12.10.08

images sizedimage 183230353

Chicago Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., is the anonymous “Senate Candidate No. 5″ whose emissaries Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich reportedly offered up to $1 million to name him to the U.S. Senate, federal law enforcement sources tell ABC News.
The politician says he is not a target of the Blagojevich investigation.

According to the FBI affidavit in the case, Blagojevich “stated he might be able to cut a deal with Senate Candidate 5 that provided Rod Blagojevich” with something “tangible up front.”

Jackson said this morning he was contacted Tuesday by federal prosecutors in Chicago whom he said “asked me to come in and share with them my insights and thoughts about the selection process.”
