There is no doubt that due to the work of Martin Luther King and other civil rights activist, that Jan 20th 2009 would not have been possible. The swearing in of the nation’s first Black President, not a descendant of slaves, but Black nonetheless. Tuesday in my extreme joy, I sent out a tweet stating that when you go to sleep and close your eyes do so, knowing that the most powerful man in the world is a Black man. So which someone replies “Wrong, MLK was that first…” I paraphrase, but basically he stated Martin Luther King was the most powerful man in the world when he was alive. With all due respect to Dr. King, but he was far from the most powerful man in the world..

What do you think, Who was more powerful? Martin Luther King or Barack Obama?

When Obama’s journey to the presidency first began, you couldn’t tell Black people anything. All I heard was he isn’t Black enough, or America isn’t ready for a Black president. Yet, after a long and hard fought battle we are only a short time away from watching the nation swear in it’s first African-American president. It’s a beautiful thing, it truly is. Not everyone can’t make it to DC to be there for the inauguration, but if you’re in the NY area you can still be apart of history on Jan 20th and have your picture taken with the President. Well sort of according to Madame Tussauds website:

A former United States Senator from Illinois and civil rights attorney; January 20, 2009 he will become the nation’s first African American to be a elected President of the United States. Barack Obama is getting it in!! lol So much so he’s been named Time man of the year. Check out a few flicks from the photoshoot from Obama College years. A photographer was told there was an interesting Freshman on campus and it was no other than Barack Obama. Imagine her surprise when she remember she had pictures of him sitting in her basement all these years. More pics on the inside.

I’ve got my hands on a bit of Barack Obama’s speech tonight. I must say this is going to be an amazing part of history we are about to witness. Check it out below.

40 years ago, on Feb. 9th 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King, preached what might be considered his own eulogy. It was called “A Drum Major’s Instinct.” In it, he described how he envisioned his funeral. I first heard this shortly after I touched the very cart they used to carry his casket through town. I stood there for about 15 minutes and a chill ran through my body, and as I walked up the ramp and heard Dr. King say, “I don’t want a long funeral. And if you get somebody to deliver the eulogy, tell them not to talk too long.”

Ms. London came out with the twins to rep for Obama at the Black Film Festival I’m not sure how I feel about Obama being fashionable. I just keep imagining what if it was Bush. chills Needless to say Barack is cool he is now offering the US public the chance to find out who he picked for Vice President by text message. Simply text VP to 62262 to receive a text message on your mobile phone.

Stop looking at Dakota’s Fanning butt!!! I’m just going to be real here and rant for a minute. Luda was wrong and now he’s being used to further smear Obama. Right wing neo-con nut case Sean Hannity said

“He [Obama] once called him a great talent even at the time he had all these albums out using the n-word and calling woman b’s and hoe’s.” Hannity goes on to say “So he flip flops and he has another radical association.”

Regardless of Luda’s intentions he’s still wrong especially since he’s trying to clean up his image. He’s cut the braids, dawns suits and puts on fund raisers. I’m surprised he didn’t lose his deal with AT&T. Not that I want him to lose any money off of it because honestly he’s right. But you can’t be a public darling and token Negro like he’s been portraying lately and call the first lady a b*tch. To see Sean Hannity rip Obama & Ludacris
