Last week Myself and Jamila (the Culture Editor for Globalgrind) had the chance to swing by Fader Magazine’s party to celebrate the release of issue #61 at We Make It Good which is a crazy popup store with giant phones and video projected on almost every wall in the building. The music was good, and the atmosphere was amazing as people networked and threw back free ice cold Budweisers.

The highlight of the night was Cali’s next great rap hope Nipsey Hussle taking the stage and bringing down the building, along with a fake Karl Lagerfeld equipped with a white pony tail working the room pulling more girls than a tug a war match sponsored by AKA’s. Maybe I had one too many beers because after that all I remember is having a handful of boob while standing next to a giant telephone and waking up the next morning looking for my boxers. I kid I kid.

Good times.

A few weeks ago Ness and I held a small contest to figure out someone to hang out with, well We couldn’t pick a winner. Everyone is so cool and so fly, we decided to invite everyone to come out and hang with us. So, this Friday we’re inviting everyone out to come and party, drink and get wild with us at Dave & Buster’s in NYC

We are now at a place where they’ll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss, and fifty cents for your soul. As I sit in someone else’s living room listening to my favorite Lil Wayne song I can’t help, but think of my birthday this Sunday. Things are moving so fast sometimes I struggle to get a hold of everything that’s going on and frankly it scares me.

I think back to just 6 years ago I was the manager of a major insurance company, a new father of 2 young girls and I had no clue what the next day of my life would be. I look back and ask myself what do I have to show for all of this living? Life itself. Have I come up short of my dreams? Am I the father I thought I would be? Speaking of father’s I lost my dad and I feel like I killed him.

Back to my life, I’m my own man, I work for myself, I get to meet celebrities, and I get to meet some of the most beautiful women on the face of the earth. I can start working when I want, for how long I want and pretty much the scariest part of it all… I’m in complete control of my own destiny. That’s the part that scares me is that any day this can all be over. I can be out on the streets like that! or at the next hour I could be swimming in money with enough to do anything I wanted to do in the world.

It’s not the part of being broke… I’ve been broke. It’s the having money part. I’m struggling to find out God’s plan for me. Is this what my life supposed to be? As of right now my revolution is a few duck sauces short of being complete but I feel it… I can’t quit my quest for my dream no matter how many people think I should be doing something else with my time. They can say what they want, but they will never change my views because they will never know me the way that I know me… I have to share the rest of my life with me so if I have to be alone… so be it. I don’t need them.

As the melody of the music fades out I love it baby.

Even today’s world of care free sex it amazes me how people don’t know the rule of casual sex. In order to help the process of casual sex along I have came up with 10 commandments for the world to follow.

1. Thou shall not leave any clothing at the other persons house

2. Thou Shall not use the L-Word

3. Thou shall not expect cuddling and leave once the sex is over

4. Thou shall show up to the other person’s house with groceries

5. Thou shall use protection

6. Thou shall not expect sex because you purchased a drink.

7. Thou shall not show up at the other person’s house unannounced

8. Thou shall control all exes and crazy baby parents.

9. Thou shall not sleep with a partners friend with out getting approval

10. – What would your tenth commandment be?

1. The Walkabout: Who says you need a destination in mind? In this case, it’s all about the journey. If you’re living in an urban area, you can walk around with your companion and start exploring the wonder that is your city. Go to that little bar that the tourists don’t know about. Any local spots that you know about are fair game. Besides, you’re hopefully in good company and that’s the most important part.

2. The Club: I know what you’re thinking; it’s bringing sand to the beach. Not necessarily. Think of it as a way to getting physically close without having to go all the way with it. And they say if you can dance you can… get hungry enough to demolish the nearest pizza place.

3. The Bar: You have drinks and you have games. If your girl likes competition, by all means bring it. Pool (one of my personal favorites) darts, even who’s beating who in the night’s sport brings people together in remarkable ways.

4. The Lounge: Music and poetry says too damn much about people. If a local band, comedian or arteest is performing, checking them out might work in your favor. It shows that you pay attention to the little things. And that’s what counts… right?

5. The Picnic: I’m throwing this in because it’s unconventional enough to work. There’s daylight outside (or night if you roll like that), fresh open air and food. I said no dinner in the formal 5-star restaurant sense, this doesn’t mean you don’t eat! Setup some fruits, chicken (a must unless one of you is vegan but i’m biased) and a variety of bite-sized foods. Lay back, get your tan on but it’s most important to bask in each other’s company. Because if you’re not enojying yourself, what’s the point?

There are way more suggestions I could give you but I’m keeping it to five. Besides, every magician needs to keep a trick up their sleeve. Get inventive. Don’t be “those other guys”. Most of all, have fun with it!

Everyone wants to go out a champion, or a winner. Well that’s what Floyd “Money” Mayweather is preparing to do. In a letter to the world “Money” has announced his retirement from the sport of boxing. It seems that he’s not happy with the sport.

“…after many sleepless nights and intense soul-searching, I realized I could no longer base my decision on anything but my own personal happiness, which I no longer could find.”

A single tear fell from my eye as I read his poetic words. The man who throws money in the air, fights 400 plus pound wrestling superstars and runs red lights on HBO is not happy. I think he’s just scared to lose. His ego is so large that he is afraid to suffer the same fate as Roy Jones, or a Mike Tyson. As young talent like Miguel Coto, want to bash his face in, and old stalwarts like Oscar Dela Hoya want to pound away at him, the thought alone has his knees knocking.

He’d much rather blow his money by making it rain, or entertain us by splurging thousands of dollars on shoes for R&B singers singing about the dumb dumb men of the world. He states “However, these past few years have been extremely difficult for me to find the desire and joy to continue in the sport.” I guess doing the waltz on ABC fills your body with joy as well? Honestly I can’t blame him for quiting. I couldn’t be a boxer, because after round 1 I’m coming back into the middle of the ring with my gloves off and my stool in hand ready to Stone Cold Steve Austin someone.

So Floyd, take this time to walk away with your speech in tact, your sanity in hand, and with one of the most impressive goose eggs ever seen in the sport of boxing. Just remember money isn’t forever, invest in your life and take a look at some of your habits and ways. The barber shops, sport bars and guys night out will miss you.

If 4 is the new benchmark for whoredom then I must be Bishop don Juan without the green suit and skinny rapper to follow around. I know men who have slept with 4 women in one day and the label whore wouldn’t stick to them if they were a refrigerator and the word a magnet.

Females have feelings too, and I for one do not knock them for wanted to get laid. For obvious reasons, getting laid can seriously reduce the stress level of dealing with a BS job, 4 dollar a gallon gas, and ever two bit hustler shouting Plies lyrics at her ever 12 step along her walk to her car.

The label of whore, is misused too often these days. Instead video vixen, video actress, and even author gets used in it’s place. Ladies I say don’t be afraid to screw, it’s memorial day weekend and you better do him before he does you. Call him back if he’s good or never call him if he’s not. Just use protection and don’t worry about the names. It’s 2008 and we are in the era of equal rights. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Unlimited Alcohol- When you go to a white person’s party they have all the alcohol you want and need. Soon as you walk in the door the Lil Wayne signature red plastic cups are waiting for you and they are so generous with the alcohol. They’re like, “what’s mine is yours buddy!” Now at a black person’s party they got a fifth of Henny and Remy and it’s probably going to be all gone before you arrive at the party.

Games- White people parties have games such as beer pong to speed up your journey to drunkenness. At a black party they just have shoot out games which turns into a track meet to see who can mimic Carl Lewis in order to win the right to continue living.

No fighting- At white people’s parties there are rarely any fights. White people are too focused on being happy and getting drunk to fight. Even if there is a fight you ain’t got to worry about a shoot out afterwards, (leave the bullet-proof vest at home), however you might end up on you tube w/ your eyebrows shaved and a hot dog stuck in your ass. Plus you still can get some p*ssy on the go at the end of the night.

White Girls- Yes, I said it! I got full blown jungle fever…white girls + alcohol = a good ass time! You’re bound to see some titties or some girl on girl action. No need to buy some “Girls Gone Wild” DVD when you can see it at your local white party. Plus white girls always curious about the black myth so you might get lucky. Just make sure you make her sign a contract of consent. Don’t want nobody getting Kobe’d.

Now of course there are some cons to going to a white person’s party:

Token Black Person- When the latest dance track (ex: Crank Dat, Cha Cha Slide) comes on the white people will automatically think you know how to do it and ask you to teach everyone… EVERYONE!!! You gotta let them know that this is not “Darren’s Dance Moves”, go on with that, you messing up my buzz, and Becky and I are about to get busy.

Dumb Questions- As much as I love white folks sometimes they ask dumb questions like, “How come ya’ll can say the n-word but we can’t?” Because I said so mofo, that’s why. I don’t want to send anybody to a hospital tonight, let’s move forward amicably.
