Would You Have Sex w/ A Baby In The Bed?

A few of my followers on twitter, including MissMedidijah, believe that having sex in front of a infant child is disrespectful to yourself and the child, but is that really the case?

Tasha was a single mother, about her business. She worked at a decent job, had her own car, and struggled to make ends meet. Despite not being rich she didn’t need a man for anything else but companionship. As many of you know it’s hard for single mothers to find love.

Many a weekend nights she spent alone in her one bedroom apt with her 6 month old child. Until she met Craig, a tall dark and handsome brother she met buying groceries at the supermarket.

Normally she wouldn’t give a guy the time of day, but he was fine and he made her baby laugh. Damn it who says she has to be lonely, she thought as she wrote her number on her check out receipt. They had went on a two family friendly dates befores, so she felt comfortable enough to invite him over for dinner. After dinner things got hot, Craig leaned in and kissed her. She hadn’t felt a mans lips in months, overwhelmed before she knew it the two of them were having sex in her bed, while her child slept only inches away from them. Both of them were extra quiet as to not wake the baby. Occasionally, she would let out a small moan and he would fight hard to withhold his grunts, nothing was disrespectful about his movements of actions, he really liked Tasha. They enjoyed a few more moments watching tv together before he left later that night.

The next day, Tasha told her girlfriend all the details of what happened. Her friend called her all types of whores and sluts, eventually ending in the two of them no longer speaking. Tasha felt terrible, she couldn’t see Craig anymore, her conscious wouldn’t allow her, and to make matters worst, she couldn’t bring her self to date any man after that.

Since that time Tasha has advanced her career and upgraded her situation. Maybe it was the loneliness that fueled her to advance her career, but she lives in a nice sized townhouse now, but deep inside she holds a lot of resentment towards her child due to the extreme amount of loneliness she feels.

Is having sex with a baby in the bed really that bad? I mean a young child who will never remember anything even if the child does wake up and sees it’s mother with a mouth full of the manxilla lodged in her throat. Well you’ll be surprised, at how often this happens. I’ve f*cked in front of snoring babies, been sucked in front of kids, rode and swallowed in front of somebody else’s sleeping child, and yet not all of the women who performed these acts were slurs, jumpoffs or whores. Some of them were good honest women who didn’t think there was anything wrong w/ this.

I’ll admit a time or two I gave more than a few of them the sexual side eye, but I understood the struggle of living in a small house as a single parent trying to have a love life. And besides it’s not that uncommon, one person wrote:

I am the mother of a 17-month child. As we do not have a separate cot or room for him, he sleeps with us in the same bed. My husband and I generally make love after he has slept but there are times when he wakes up and stares at us strangely. Please advise if it is appropriate for us to continue like this. I am always in a dilemma and it is affecting my relationship with my husband. I am not as comfortable making love any more as I fear that this might negatively impact my child’s psychology ~ SOURCE

While doing some research for this blog I found that, many Western parenting experts and websites state that having sex with a baby in the room is not an issue at all. “Don’t worry about having sex while the baby is in the same room. She won’t have a clue what’s going on,” many of them say confidently. So why is this such an issue for some women to accept that some people have sex in front of sleeping babies? Do you think you’re parents never had sex in front of you when you were a small child? Do you think these subconscious memories can lead to a deep-rooted fear/anger/disgust with one or the other parent? Let’s talk about it.

I rarely make comments on here, but this one def hits home! I have a 6 month old girl & honestly I have had sex with her in the bed, she has woke up a few times and looked around, but I've held the pacifier in her mouth, while still having sex LOL, a quickie while putting her to sleep in her crib...call it what you want, but she picks the most opprotune times to wake up... Her daddy once wanted a mid day quickie, but I couldn't pull myself to do it because she had these huge eyes and this smirk like I know what you doing...and kept peeking over my shoulder looking at him like "What 'cha doin" LOL...but needless to say absolutely no problem in it!
  • It seems kinda odd, but who am I to judge I guess. Sharing a 1 bedroom apartments sounds awful with children.

I dont see anything wrong with having sex with your child in the bed as long as its the father. But if not oh well the child wont remember as long as they are under 1.Me and my kids father had sex in the bed with each child while they were babies. Sheesh we had to get it in any way possible.

i've done it before...and i guess it's just the western world that looks and views it as being something strange. it really isn't. it's common practice in societies that have a strong sense of community.

I sorry that just nasty. I mean go in the living room or the kitchen out of sight. I would feel like I scarred my child for life.

In the same bed is only acceptable if it's that childs father and if its a small baby...imo, once they can lift their head, can focus on other people's activity and have developed a sense of curiosity its a no-no. At that point in the same room is ok if their view can be obstructed.

My concern is how is anyone in this situation having a fulfilling experience when you have to stifle your moans, groans, grunts, shyt talking, ass smacking, choking etc???

In the same bed or same room with a "not the father"? Hell no, I can't see it. When my daughter was young and I was single my cousins and friends were more than willing to watch her for me...they were like "go ahead bitch you need to get some, we'll come pick her up and drop her back off!" LOL...so I can't imagine that every chick doesn't have at least one sister, cousin or friend who wouldn't be willing to help a sistah out and if worse comes to worse like someone else said you can always take it to the living room, shower or kitchen.

lol okay...the social worker in me knows its wrong in all kinds of ways...but the reality is ain't Sh*t wrong wit it as long as the child ain't over five and woke cause it does mess with their psych...ppl who say its wrong and nasty need to quit cause you never know until you're put in the situation...sex can take over your mind real quick...lol

Really Xilla, its you who is good at bringing out some things that are really never discuss or never given a second thought. Somethings, ways, and habits, are just never given twice a thought. We just do/did these things and now we just remember them when you bring it up. Of course we did this me and the baby daddy/man/husband. I think alot of us or guilty or inosent of this behavior. Those were some of the good ole days.

It is one thing to be the parents of the child you are exposing. But some random dude that may not be a part of the child's life? That is disrespectful! My husband and I have done it with hte kid in teh room, but she is all of 4 months and she is ours, and he is extraquiet about it cause she is ours. A single mom, sorry but you gotta change rooms, that dude has no ties to your kid and doesn't care. He could care less about banging your back out and making you scream with the kid around. And when our lil one stirs my hubby stops cause he knows one of us has to attend to teh baby. There is no guarantee soem random dde would even want to stop if the bay started fussin cause he is about himself.

....and no one has mentioned it BUT every mother out there knows she would Lose. Her. Mind. if she found out, that during his weekend of custody, baby daddy f*cked another broad while her precious gift was sleeping in the same bed or was even in the same room...

The results of said discovery would range in severity from attempted castration to a petition for termination of his parental rights

I AGREE!! I couldn't do it! Why not get it on in the living rm or bathroom?? Why in the bed with your child??

IMO, It is NOT the move to have children while living in a one bedroom..

I had sex when my kid (toddler) was in the bed, but the kid was sleeping. I wouldnt do that if the kid was awake.
  • Wow, when i first saw this on twitter, i thought who the hell would. I'm childless, but a newborn child in the bed. My only issue would be that I would be scared to wake the baby, or hit the baby. I don't even know if i could bring myself to do it. I think I would be feel better moving the baby or keeping the foor open, and doing it somewhere else in the house.

A 17 month old looking up and staring through is very wierd, married or not. I don't think i would want my child seeing that, then repeating the movements at daycare or something.

ou shouldnt even be sleeping in the same bed as the child. You can't believe how many kids make the paper by getting crushed like that.
  • TheWiz
I couldn't do it with my daughter in the room so I know I couldn't with her in the bed. But hey if you're comfortable with it do u.
  • makenzie08
I have two kids and I have never once had sex with my kid even in the room. I dont think its right, even in a small apartment there are still other rooms beside the bed. My husbands also the kind of person that doesnt let the kids see him in his boxers and there only 18mths and 3yrs, which i like it that way, but to each there own. Kids are getting to where there having sex at earlier ages and ppl wonder why... But its bc we make it seem like sex is an everday part of life so in our kids eyes its ok to start having sex at 9,10 years old.

It's one thing to have sex with another man in the same bed with your baby. But if it's the babies father then yea ya'll do the damn thing. But word of the wise it won't last that long pretty soon you'll be figuring out a way to have privacy. I would never have sex in the same bed with my baby with a guy that is the father of my child. You can take it to the living room, kitchen, the floor, there are other places in the house also. It really isn't that serious!
