  • Wax: I suggest you go to a nice clean shop with friendly people. Some shops even have a topical spray that will numb your area. There are also shops that have a book of designs that you can get waxed into your mane such as a heart, teardrop or even the first letter of your man’s name. But if you want to save your money, or you just have an issue with someone dipping hot wax on your lower area you can always shave at home. Whatever you do, the first step is to always fade it down. And by this I mean, grab a small pair of scissors and cut all the hair down low. Then you have your options. Here are a few:
  • Landing Strip: This is a strip of hair that extends from the top of your panty line on down. The strip can also start midway down. It’s all about how you like it. The width should be proportional to your lips.
  • The Mr. T: Similar to the landing strip, The Mr. T requires that you shave the sides and leave a slimmer landing strip. The hair should not be faded all the way down on the strip.

  • get like me
    1st...i need a brazillian wax..nair doesnt work
  • Le Chocolat: Passion Fatale
    I tried nair once.
maybe it was too strong i dunno, but it burned!
Now the only thing I do is wax it or shave it all off.
I have it threaded every now and then (only for special occasions)
    ......it is super painful!
But it lasts a whole lot longer than waxing.
Its good if you want a nice design.
i.e. smiley faces or flowers, lol.
  • TheWiz
So that explains it. . .I had this girl who had a star on hers and couldnt figure out for the life of me how she did it. Had to be threading right.
  • DamnNearPerfect
definitely didnt know about threading down there... it hurts for my eyebrows so im sure that couldnt feel good
  • MissSexED
Yea, I have never heard of threading pubes. Hmmm learn something new everyday.
  • Dizz
I read a report that threading was very unsantary because the thread is in the mouth of the tech and pulling out the hairs causes the pores to open which allows bacteria from the mouth to get inside. I'm cool on the threading.
  • MissSexED
Wow! I don't think I need a woman with strings in her mouth near my cooch. I've never had my brows threaded.
  • Le Chocolat: Passion Fatale
I get my eyebrows threaded all the time...the only part of the thread they put in their mouth is the piece they are not using/can't use because its excess and just gets in the way. They NEVER use that part of the string on the client!

When it comes to the pubes, the excess string is long enough where they don't have to put their face all in your crotch.

Maybe the person who wrote that report went to a backwoods salon and had a bad experience or went to someone who didn't know what they were doing. Threading is supposed to be the most sanitary form of hair removal, because they don't use the same tools/products/utensils on everyone who comes in.

I've been to a few places, and I find that the Arab/Middle Eastern/Indian salons do it the best. This is probably do to the fact that threading originated from that area of the world .
  • Janee
im sorry i just cannot see my self shaving there..never i have once and i just wasnt down with it, it didnt feel right..but i will trim it so that it never looks wild an untamed poking out the side of my panties or anything..and i hope he does the same because women arent the only ones growing hair any and everywhere..nothings worse the shoveling through their hair to find the prize
  • MissSexED
See the first time is usually the worst. My 1st time was about 10th grade. I shaved it all off and went to my friends house for the night. She thought something was wrong with me b/c I scratched alllll night long. It was horrible!

But now I have no problems at all. No razor bumps or anything. It's smooth sailing. If you do decide to shave again, try putting cocoa butter lotion or pure cocoa butter on afterwards.
  • Le Chocolat: Passion Fatale
    Bald eagle for me!
It just makes life so much easier!
  • DamnNearPerfect
who r u tellin!! and its easy to keep up... i shave maybe once or twice a week... and sometimes right before special occasions :]
  • M*
    HAHA COMEDY....yet such an epidemic
  • HappyToBeNappy
I shave for me. . not him. Everything feels better when there isn't all that hair getting in the way. Plus I just feel cleaner without it.
  • MissSexED
    Agreed!!!!!!!!
  • Jamie8706
Bald Eagle here I can't stand hair anywhere on the body
  • meccasunrise
I got to go with the low fade. Hair bumps are painful
  • EbonyLolita
It may sound crazy but I put no lye on my shyt then shave the sides. Yes, when I perm my hair I perm my cat. Sounds crazy but it keeps me from gettin any razor bumps on the sides and when I cut it low it looks smoothed out. I can't do the bald look, I feel like I'm a woman and need a lil bit down there. LOL :)
  • Permed coochie? really? wow!!
  • EbonyLolita
    Shutup!
  • Dizz
Your coochie must hate you...didn't you say you douche like 3-4 times a week too? Or was that someone else?
  • HeadMistress
Thanx a lot Dizz - the story of the renegade doucher was a traumatic read for me, and just when I'd finally repressed the memory, you bring it up...LMAO!

But it was someone else and it was actually 5-6 times a week...UGH
  • Dizz
My bad...didn't mean to traumatize you... my coochie shudders in fear when I think of that...LOL. LMAO renegade doucher!!!

Sorry EbonyLolita...mistook you for someone else.
  • Bald baby. Stress and mess free!
  • Smokie You're cool with me!!
  • Baby Oil Nair will take it all off
  • AmoraAtlanta
    bald eagle!!!!!!!!!
  • RockStone
yeesh! it needs to be waxed professionally. but def. not bald eagle, i'm not trying to sex any Jon Benet Ramseys. Also, when it starts growing back after a shave, a dudes face can get pretty iritated, got my chin all red and shit, wax it!
  • Rachel
I trim around my labia. I dont shave any where near my vagina. too sensitive, too close. No way. but i use veet for everywhere else. But I definitely dont use a razor for anything down there,
  • JUST IN TIME FOR BIKINI SEASON!
  • Me
Professional Wax is the way to go! If any ladies are in Atlanta you should definitely go to 'Brazilian Waxes by Andreia.' She is a miracle worker!
  • Dizz
On a scale of 1 - 10 what is the pain level from a brazilian, I've wanted to get it done but I heard it VERY painful.
  • tosweetheart
Not too sure what the 'new' fascination is with women and men being bald "down there". I think anyone that will only deal with someone bald downstairs is bordering on some pedophile-ish.

Grown men and women have body hair!! Personally I think men with bald crotches are NASTY and it makes me less interested. It looks disgusting, and weird, and unnatural.

Obviously you want someone that grooms themselves. But bald??? Naaaaaa not interested. AT ALL.

p.s. the hair is actually there for a reason, just like our nose hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows.
  • yeah but it's ugly!! and nasty!!! and if my nose hair came out my nose i would get no women!
  • Thoney Gangstasweet
i aggree, i have a super neat landing strip that starts right before the lips and covers the split. i HATE when men are completely shaved. its scary. i think a tiny bit of hair is sexy with most of it being smooth. just my thought....
  • OooLaLa
Bald Eagle for me ... either professional waxing or Nair oil. It feels great, and most men love it ... I'm just not used to having all that hair down there.
  • HeadMistress
@ "I think anyone that will only deal with someone bald downstairs is bordering on some pedophile-ish."

When did an appreciation for someone who grooms become associated with deviant sexual behavior??? I must've missed that memo

Chris Hansen and the NBC camera crew is gonna be real busy touring America's bedrooms, not to mention spas & salons everywhere looking to catch a predator
  • I know!! It's crazy! smh! isn't the American symbol the bald eagle? Doesn't every man want a woman spread eagle? I'm just saying! lol
  • HeadMistress
    You are hilarious!
  • tosweetheart
Pedophile-ish ..... is referring to grown adults that are only sexually attracted to 'people that resemble children" (i.e. bald genitalia).

Adults (well the majority of them) do not have bald genitals so... if that's all that works for you... you may have some issues!

To each his/her own. I'm just saying. It's not natural... A preference is FINE... but when you are a grown man and will only deal with a "bald" woman it really does make me wonder.
  • I strongly disagree. I like bald coochie it looks better, and I don't like hair in my mouth... it sucks. it attracts more scent and it's just not cool in my book.. Doesn't mean that the man likes a child it simply means he likes a clean coochie. I prefer no hair but a nice design is also cool, but if i had a choice I'm choosing the baldie over the hairy... It just makes more sense. So with your way of thinking women should have underarm hair too? Right? Hair on a woman is just nasty!! eww
  • HeadMistress
    Exactly!

I'm wondering how it even works in "tosweethearts" mind, seeing that most people don't walk around with their bald genitalia exposed, what would be the INITIAL attraction of the alleged "pedophile-ish" person?
  • tosweetheart
As I have said... everyone is entitled to their preference ... and I am entitled to mine.

How it works in my world/mind is I prefer my adult male boyfriends to look like adult men i.e. they have pubic hair. It's pretty simple really.

My initial comment was based around the fascination in our culture today with "bald" crotches ...

The same way you like bald (note all the disparaging comments re: unwaxed) some people do like body hair on men.... and believe it or not... as shocking as it seems some men actually like body hair on women!!!

    To me it is masculine.
  • Yes, it is odd for a man to have no hair down there. I've never seen that situation, but I imagine I wouldn't be attracted at all.

I am bald. Me. It's not like men seek me out cuz I'm bald. LOL I'm sure my husband wouldn't really care what I did with it, but after trying all kinda cuts and fades, I settled on a bald eagle most of the time. Love it.
  • HeadMistress
No argument here on the preference of men with pubes...I personally don't like a man with a bald crotch either...

No one is knocking your preference, it's your opinion regarding "anyone that will only deal with someone bald downstairs is bordering on some pedophile-ish" that is random and baseless
  • It´s great whem you can learn from the net thaks for sharing this :-)
  • Kema
