The Stanky Leg To The 10th Power

Posted in Uncategorized on Mar 25, 2009

Yo shorty in the white pants… I mean… wow. It’s clear she can ride the d’ like the best of them… They just start younger and younger. It’s sad though because this is what kids do when their parents aren’t home.

This is the Twerk Team. They have tons of videos.

However, they are over 18 and all of them are in college.
  • Xan
I think the point Xilla is making is NOT that these chicks are minors...but that (in truth) minors do this all the time & worse on YouTube daily...young girls like these appear to be. Dig?
  • Xan
PS: fuck the Stanky Legg. one day it will just be an embarrassing memory of Afromerican/Hip-hop culture...
  • Belly
yah..the song is horrible i agree.... but as a male i cant help but notice ol girl in the white
  • doubleu
and honestly, if they are in college, it just makes them look extra stupid to be posting Youtube videos of themselves twerking they asses. They should start teaching about foresight at school now I see.
  • Whatev
Uh, isn't this what we all did at home in HS? Throw on some cheerleading shorts and dance (skankily) with your friends cuz there were no parents around. We just didn't have youtube. But I DO get the feeling these lil ones did it to impress some folks at school.

Unfortunately, YouTube gives fast ass girls a more effective and widespread outlet through which to smut themselves out completely before the age of 21. And there are 5,000 videos like this on YouTube.
  • theFOXXX.
    uhhh... no mama.
i sure had too much dignity and pride to do that shit.
any freaky activities i did/do, are between me and the man im
    doing having relations with.
    thats just me.

like another person said, this shit will be on the computer forever.
some nasty foul ass man could have downloaded that and kept it on his PC!!
we live in a grimy world to be playing with that.
    IMO.

    smh @ those females.
    guidance is obviously needed.
  • DamnNearPerfect
i saw before and i said ew! theres just something about females that will shake their ass at the drop of a hat that irks me
  • TheWiz
No whats really sad is some of this is starting to take place while the parent(s) are at home and some are encouraging this type of behavior. I wish I would ever catch my daughter/sister/cousin etc. doing this.

Plus this song shitty as hell
  • I'm not a fan of young girls twerking in front of a cam and then uploading it to the Internet. I'm young myself and I wouldn't DARE do anything like this. It's an embarrassment to me, my family, and my friends. I want to be somebody one day and I would N0T want something like this to come back and haunt me one day.

If this is what they wish to do, to each his own, but not I! They're even trying to start an iTwerk Movement encouraging other girls to twerk. What? All, I gotta say is that they better be careful because they never know where these videos could lead to in a few years...
  • Breezy
    ugh..disgusted.
  • WoW
  • Missme
ewwwww that is just...wow...and I hate the "stinky leg"...lol
  • i saw this video the other day. i ain't gon' lie though.. ol' gurl in the white tights! damn!
  • Belly
    my GOD white pants!!!
  • smiley
Honestly that whole embarressing their race, their gender and themselves sounds like something that they should worry about. They seem talented and look like they are having fun. I'm a female and am not about to take this so seriously to the point that I'm chastizing these women that I don't even know. They can twerk all they want if that is what they want to do.
  • smiley
and that girl in the white pants is absolutely killing it. OMG!
  • Princess Dana
The only good thing is you can't REALLY see their faces. LOL

The internet is horrible for young people sometimes (and I include college-aged people in young people) They upload everything to youtube with no thought of how it will be perceived or the possibility of it coming back in a way that they might not appreciate years from now.

But ole girl in the white was KILLIN it! ;-)
  • TheLovelyMsRedz
I see a lot of hatred going on here. No one can deny, ol' girl in the white was working it!!! That's TALENT!
  • wow! white pants is definitely a rider!
  • Who Dat
Actually what they are doing is pretty normal in the larger view. We as African Americans are so engulfed in white culture and how we have been brainwashed to think, that we forgot about our own culture in Africa. These types of dances and movements are normal in African countries where the people are butt ass naked or damn near naked in tribes. A lot of the dances are rituals and are performed as rite of passage or daily rituals. We are basically carrying on tradition as black people subconsciously. Sexuality is apart of life and should not be shameful, western civilization, white culture and modern civilization which is somewhat removed from its true nature has programmed us to believe that this is bad but its not at all.
  • ballinonabudget
are you serious right now? you are making a lot of valuable points...but on youtube..half naked? seriously?
  • HeadMistress
    I agree with Who Dat...

We have a tendency to believe that anything that is or deemed inapporpriate or not understood by "society" is wrong or ghetto...and quite simply it is not.

There is an "age of appropriateness" to consider but once you're past that there is nothing wrong with what they are doing BUT it also doesn't need to be on display for the world to see.......for free......forever and ever, amen...and that is exactly what it is now, whether the girls who posted it like it or not.

The girl in white is definitely commited to her "craft" - hopefully she's as commited to her studies and will be able to turn one or both into something that makes her a success.
  • white pants is killin it...stanky.
  • At some point it becomes obscene and absurd. I do believe we passed that point a long way back. I would break my daughters legs if I caught her dancing like some worthless trash. She has more then a body and a lady doesn't need to show off like that to be seen.
  • Reminds me of a movie, Bamboozled by Spike Lee, just the newest minstrel show. "Where be's good old Amos and Andy when we needs them?"
  • WHO DAT is an IDIOT!
    Really WHO Dat?

"These types of dances and movements are normal in African countries where the people are butt ass naked or damn near naked in tribes."

Shame on you for making such a comment. Culturally there is a different type of "dancing" that takes place amongst those in Africa. It does not involve gyrating on the damn floor and belly rolling. Get your life together. Obviously you believe that we are savages or beasts and the behavior of these girls is just a subconscious way of expressing that savagery. Respect for self transcends race, culture and ethnicity. Being the child of two African immigrants and making trips to Africa myself I can personally say you are dead wrong. Go kill yourself.
  • Me
Well said, that just goes to show the ignorance of some people, especially those that think they know it all when infact they know nothing at all, empty vessels make the most noise. As an African actually living in Africa I can confirm that Who Dat is indeed an idiot!
  • HeadMistress
OMG – relax! While Who Dat’s statements regarding African dance are wildly general, misguided and exaggerated try to look past that and see the context of what’s being said – the fact is that society sees a lot of what we do as inappropriate and/or even savage – TRUE African culture including dance and art is becoming more and more accepted as time goes on but there was a time where anything “African” was looked upon no differently than this stanky leg video, almost everything in our culture (however far removed Afr-Am’s may be from it) was seen as third-worldly. So whether it’s something made up in the mind of a teenager who’s never been out of the US let alone directly exposed to African culture or something that is “truly” based on African culture, we are always expected to conform and act appropriately according to some standard set by society.

While I am pretty sure there are no “stanky leg” rites of passage and rituals going on in Africa, the fact is that our style of dance *not the dances themselves* but the way we move and express ourselves is absolutely derived from our culture. We are strong, outspoken, and expressive in everything we do and it’s never been looked upon kindly. To be “civilized” according to society means repressing instead of expressing oneself and many of us have fallen into the trap of repressing and even being embarrassed by those not afraid to express themselves.

Again there are aspects of appropriateness to consider, age, venue, audience, etc but dance in whatever form it takes is an art, yes even the stanky leg. Dance is expression and it ranges from mildly provocative to wildly provocative, not everyone is going to appreciate every form of dance, most won’t appreciate the stanky leg just like they won’t appreciate a bunch of white boys jumping around and slamming into each other in a mosh pit but it is still their form of expression.

If you believe freedom of expression through dance, whatever form it takes, is savage, beastly and disrespectful to oneself then the problem is with you and not Who Dats misguided statements or the Twerk Team….

Now speaking of savage and beastly....“Go kill yourself” ??? Really?? That’s savage and beastly - something that should never be said; even in jest....follow your own advice and get YOUR life together.
  • If it has origins in Africa prove it. What you're doing is viewing this through the traditional, Westernized Eurocentric view that has long since sexualized black men and women, particularly women. There is a line between simulating sex (which these broads are doing) and dancing. I cannot ever recall seeing an African get down on the floor like the chick in the white leggings, from any tribe or country on that continent.

You are using apologism to justify prurience.
  • HeadMistress
Where in any of my statement did I say that this dance had origins in Africa?

I didn't, read carefully before you respond
  • HeadMistress
Well it either takes you a really long time to read or you discovered what you should have seen the first time around - in no way did I suggest that this dance originated in Africa.

    On to the next...

There is NO line between simulating sex and dancing if the PURPOSE of the dance is to simulate sex.

Dancing is whatever the DANCER wants it to be.

Ever seen West Side Story? There is a dance simulating a fight scene.

Ever been to the ballet or a musical? What do you think they are doing? They are telling a story through a variety of "simulated acts" using DANCE.

We may not like the dance that is being done but that doesn't make it "not a dance"

@ "I cannot ever recall seeing an African get down on the floor like the chick in the white leggings, from any tribe or country on that continent." Neither can I.

I have no issue with progress, I just don't believe it has to come at the expense of anyone's culture simply because it's misunderstood or unappreciated and it has nothing to do with these silly girls and their lewd dance in front of the world, this was simply the catalyst for the discussion
