The major problem men and women have with each other is communication. I hear females tell me all the time that men don’t listen, we hear what we want to hear. Which is true, but it’s b/c we think, talk and hear differently. So I’ve put together a guide on how to talk to a dude.

Get To The Point

  • We don’t need to know every single detail of what went on. Time is money, so If you got into an argument with office tramp, I don’t need to know what she had on, where she sits, what sort of car she drives or the food group of the piece of food that was stuck in her teeth, for you to tell me that you THINK she’s talking about you behind your back. Start w/ the conclusion and then I’ll be more likely to want to listen to the other details.

So what you really saying is don't talk so much?? LOL, I have to agree wholeheartedly with the last tip though.

I almost always date older guys and whenever I'm in one of my rants they feel like it's their job to solve the problem which makes me think "Ninja, if I wanted your opinion/solution I'd ask. Right now I just need to go off TO you cuz I can't go OFF on my momma!"
  • yes
    lmao!! i know thats right

I JUST got into it with my bf about this!!!! He hit me with the "why are you telling me about it if you don't want my help"

Can I just vent please??!!! That's what he's supposed to be there for!

So what your saying is get to the point? hahaha... good post. Over the years I have come to accept that I have to talk to my man like Im doing a business presentation. Keep it short to the point and some times you have show a little cleavage to get your way. lol j/k..

    Thanks for sharing.

Another point (coming from a woman) I think that all too often women speak at men and down to men as if trying to emasculate them. Like they forgot they were dealing with a King. That is always a no no.

    Jus my interpretation God.
  • Xilla ur crzy! Wht type of females r u dealing w/ lol...lmao!!!

Those women u "described" would make me run for the hills lol.....

    Hey hey hey Nessa!!!

    How was the "outing"?
  • The outing was cool...it started off a lil slow but it picked up really fast!
Overall I had a good time! the food and drinks were definitely on point ;)
  • So Ness how was Xilla in person? You see all those women wanted to do him for a week str8... HOW WAS HE?
  • Xilla was very animated in person! He's almost comical lol.
Of course the topic of the night was SEX!!! We had Dave & Busters going crzy w/ the way we all were talking!!

But Xilla has a big neck and big hands so I'm guessing his cinderella stories are true lol
  • Your neck is small though my hand fit all the way around it!! lol
  • My neck is small b/c I'm a small chick and I'm not a man lol.

Yeah...I figured when u tried to rough house me, u had way too many 1/2 priced drinks of Long Island Ice T lol.

Yes, I've learned this, not really the hard way, but the hurt feelings way :-(

I've always been the type to give as much info as possible so no questions needed to be asked but I've learned to do the opposite, men really don't wanna hear that long drawn out shyt so I had to learn to just give the basics and if they wanna/need to know more...they'll ask

Nice touch on the K.I.S.S. Xilla...adding Sexy instead of Stupid...LOL!

YESSS!! I told him that too. That I am giving him all the details so he doesn't have any folow up questions. Cause I am only saying this shit once, LOL!!
  • This was on point Xilla, I gotta take your advice I'm nosey so I want to know it all my friends always tell me to shut up!! lol I dont care tho i am who i be
  • For the guys, just repeat the last few words in every sentence she says. That way it seems like your listening and she will keep on talking.

LMAO @ “I woke up got dressed….” see you lost me already, you went from being nekkid to wearing clothes <---- Too funny, lol
  • I like this and agree!
  • This was good...I should let my man read this since our relationship is the other way around lol!
  • Lady Jei
OMG he and I JUST had this discussion about the way I tell a story. LMAO!!! And I was mad. Cause he was like "babe, get to the point, I don't need all those details, LOL!! I said "I'm painting a picture", he said "well, listening to you is like watching that shit dry".

So yea, I get it now.
  • B_Says
Actually, most guys I talk to want to hear me talk. I get sick of it lol. Half of the time we have a good convo going but the other half theyre playing 20 questions with me having answer every single last one of em.

Men love and need structure although we don't say it. It's not that men don't listen it's that from our perspective women include too many unecesary details when they speak and don't tell us what's important and what's not. We hear all the unecessary stuff and automatically shut down our listening capabilities.

Women, before you start talking to us about something tell what you want from us first. We need structure. If you just want to vent without an offered solution tell us that first and we'll give it to you. If you don't tell someone your expectation you need to accept responsibility for not getting what you expected.
