EUR has learned that after an extended illness, seminal comedian Rudy Ray Moore, better known as Dolemite, has died in Akron, Ohio. He was 81. EUR was initially informed of the news by comedienne Luenell, a friend of the family.

Comedian Rudy Ray Moore passed away from complicatons of diabetes, he was 82. This man held down the underground comedic genre in the 70’s and became a blaxploitation icon. His Party records were the stuff of
legend,often being more extreme and explicit with his style and subject matter than Redd Foxx or even Richard Pryor. I always enjoyed his quirky, low budged humor and his crazy sporadic rhymes…..yes
rhymes. As well as being a movie star Rudy Ray could rap with the best of em’. The early,early days of rap. You had brothers on the streets spitting that hard edged poetry back then,cats like H Rap Brown,Gil
Scott Heron and Rudy Ray Moore used to go in with it!!!!!!………….I gotta pour out a little liquor and pop in
Dolomite, Human Tornado or even Petey Wheatstraw and show some love…R.I.P. It’s a shame but now that he’s gone something tells me that these classics may take on a whole new life.
