Bloxilla, you are so full of BULLSHIT. If you can honestly say that you wouldn't care that your daughter or son reads this blog then that makes you part of the problem kids face today. The fact that so few responded to this entry was so saddening. You are a chauvinist, arrogant, and the eyes you see the world through needs some dialition. I bet your dick is not that good to look at the way you talk and the girls you probably sack either feel sorry for you, had too much to drink or are the whores you pimp. I'm not impressed by you. I thought I was impressed by your writing but I realised eventually you're just good at stroking, no substance. I have never taken the time to get in the mix on your blogs but after reading this entry I've decided to let you know that someday, you will meet people who will upgrade your way of thinking and maybe then your blogs will will return to the intellect they once retained. No I am not bitter, lonely nor am I single and unattractive. I am a successful editor and I've just moved your contribution to the DO NOT READ list. Smut sells so I'll know you'll be aroud for a while. You must be so proud of yourself.

Hmmm, remember me asking you that question and still waiting on the response bout you not wanting to get laid by a south african... anyhoooooooo<br>Im 27 years old and have a beautiful 6 year old niece that i cant imagine having sex! But i would rather the knowledge of safe sex come from me then some 12 year old snot nosed boy that has figured out that the thing between his legs is for more then peeing! So when it comes down to it will sit her down, talk to her about it, ALL OF IT including the std's, Aids and the long term effects your body and mind can suffer from if done for the wrong reasons... I just pray she listens and takes stock and educate her friends that might not have a mother, niece or aunt to speak to...

Wow.....you hit it on the head! My family and i were just talking about that because I have like 5 girl cousins and 1 sister and all of them are getting their PHD's (and have no kids n DC). They were saying that i was their role model(mine ya'll was the only child and grand for 7 years and a bad seed lol) and my aunts and uncles got mad saying they should be the role models and they all agreed (the girls) that i was the one that let them See and Know what was going on. See, your child does not think that you are a role model until they are older. You can say whatever you want to them but they need someone that is not so much older then them to set an example. That is why I registered to the Big Brother and Sister organization.

This is the truth. More parents need to acknowledge the facts that babies grow up and do grown folks things eventually. I would rather my child hear from me what sex is and what it is about and how to be safe rather then nothing. Its sad adults don't want to take responsibility in teaching their children about sex in schools simply because they aren't comfortable. It is necessary in the times of AIDS/HIV! I'm grateful my Mom spoke to me about sex and what is inappropriate touching when I was five. She really was looking out for what was best for me.

I agree totally! i have a 9 year old sister, I'm 24 and I have already talked to her about the birds and bees! I NEED for her to know about sex before she starts having it. My mother taught me nothing! When i got my period i thought I was dying and didn't know why my mother wasn't rushing me to the hospital! i was in the 3rd grade when I got my period and my sister is in the 3rd grade now, I can't let her learn about sex from watching late night HBO Real Sex, like I did!

If more parents thought like this, we would have a lot fewer issues in society, as far as std's and unplanned pregnancies are concerned. I was fortunate to have a mother who was honest with me about birth control, sexual health & my value as a woman, so I was informed enough to make responsible and informed decisons as a teenager. We never got into positions and such like Miss Cocoa was saying, but at least I was armed with enough information to be comfortable with my body and not be influenced by the misinformation of my peers.

As the mother of 4 beautiful daughters, I can honestly say that I want them to be very responsible about sex. I have ALWAYS been curious about sex 4 as long as I can remember. I think I was born horny and will probably die being done from the back. I think I got this from my mother (seriously). One area my mom and dad (I'm a preacher's daughter-no jokes allowed) *ucked up in was that they REFUSED to ever talk about sex with me and I was curious. Therefore this led to alot of bullshit in my life-i.e. being pregnant @16. I honestly believe looking back and honestly knowing who I am and what I like, I don't there was a lot they could have done to keep me "pure". I wish they would've just taught me to be safe. This is why I talk to my kids ALL the time. Nothing is off limits. No matter the time or day. I teach that sex is a beautiful thing that SHOULD be shared b/w 2 married people. Of course, I'd love for my daughters to be virgins on their wedding nite, but I am not just leaving this to chance or the "snot" nosed kids. This is a choice that they need to make and they need to stick it out regardless of the temptations. My two older girls both have worn promise rings since the talk and they are staying pure-for as long as possible (they're still young). Education is the key. I don't think it will stop all kids, but I think it could stop STDs and babies having babies. I also teach them that ppl get horny (not in these exact words) and shit happens, therefore always be prepared. Education! Another area that I work hard on is making sure my daughters love THEMSELVES. Fuck everything else out there if you don't love u nobody else can or will. I never had this-hard to live w/o this attitude. Therefore I have showered it on my girls so they KNOW they the stuff. This also helps them make the best decisions when they know that they're #1! My husband's upbringing was very different so he is open with ALL his views (sex included). I don't think totally sheltering children help them @ all unless u plan on doing it for their ENTIRE life-it's pointless!

I couldn't agree more. I was watching the news the other day and there was a report about the Morning After pill being available for teenagers. The kids out here are having sex and don't know what the H they are doing. Last night the girl was asked what her favorite position was and her response was I Don't Know. If you don't know, then you don't need to be having sex. They need to be educated first and foremost.
