Too many tattoos take away from who you are, but one to maybe three is okay. However, I love sleeves. Heh. Anywayz, I have one on my inner wrist, and it's small, but it's noticeable. It's nothing racy, evil or controversial, and I haven't gotten any flack from it. Well, a family member tried to question me about it, but my thought is: It's my body, therefore I will do as I please. Overdoing it is crazy though.

I have 8. Most of them are small and are in intimate places and only one is visible, which is my zodiac sign on my wrist. And yes, I have a "tramp stamp" too. I thought about getting one on my foot, but it seems like EVERYONE is doing it! It's still in the back of my mind.

Honestly, I don't see myself getting any more done. But what I can't stand is people that are in their 40's that decide that they want to get one done.

I don't regret any of them, they look sexy to me.

I think it's too many when your whole body is covered, face included and there is no skin, just all ink.

I have 6. all meaningful. each represents part of my life i want to remember for the rest of my life. all were impulsive decisions, but i never regretted any of them.

i have one on the inside of my left ankle (Cancer Zodiac symbol) cuz it is me to a tee. i have the infinity symbol on the inside of my left wrist but it is hot pink, so folks think it's henna. on the inside of my right wrist is the word STRENGTH as it is something that i needed as a reminder of just who and what i am. it looks like a birthmark from far away cuz it is a baby blue. i have 2 medium ones on my back. on my lower right hand side is the map of my homeland (Guyana) with the flag on the inside. between my shoulder blades is a heart with wings enveloping it and a halo. it's a memorial to my baby brother and i wanted it there for any and everyone to see, just so he is not forgotten. my last, most recent, is the Celtic Triquetra (mind, body and soul working as one) as that is what i wanted to focus on at this point in my life.

every one of my tattoos have been at a turning point in my life and i refuse to hide them. if people ask, i explain it to them and that helps then understand me as a person, and what is important to me. size should not matter, only appropriateness. you should be able to walk into a job interview and not have people look at you like a biker chick or a hood rat. so ladies, i preach, be responsible and think about your future whether you are taking the plunge for the first or tenth time. getting tattooed is cathartic for me. when something is troubling me and i need piece of mind and focus, i either design or alter an existing design to fit what it is i need at that moment. do what is best for you, your children/family and your future.

@blogxilla, who are you to judge. don't do "whitie's" job for him ok!! we need Africa. Our beautiful dark ancestors! WE DON'T REMEMBER WHO WE ARE NOR DO WE CARE. it's a shame but to each their own I guess. i think tats look so sexy on men, especially on their backs! I once saw this girl who had eyes on the front of her chest....a hot mess to say the least. i think tats can be tasteful on women when they are put in places where they are in the right places.

First off I think that the hip-hop community is not the only community where some seem to get a little out of hand with the tats…look and the NBA players, skateboarders, and rockers. I must agree that a few are ok. I am the proud owner of two myself but when your have so many that they all seem to run together and some of the work looks like straight jail house work it looks bad.

As for the ladies PLEASE, PLEASE leave the hood stuff alone this means the neck and chest area. The tats on the calf where one on the ones I have is, is very sexy when you have on a dress and if you have nice arms it looks nice too but keep its sexy (not to big) and make sure the are work is tight and you can look good with your tat no matter what your wearing and where your going..
