5 Things I’ve Learned From Pimps

You know the name of the game yo b*tch choose me. Every since I was a small boy I’ve been fascinated by pimps. Maybe it was the way my step dad wore his lime green suits, maybe it was just that my mom never let me watch the Dolomite movies she rented from Palmer’s Video store, but I’ve always been entertained by pimps. Yes that’s right pimps taught me a lot of love, sex and relationships.
5. Ice Berg Slim – I first read Robert Beck’s cult classic book when I was in 7th grade and an english teacher made us read books over the summer. I walked in to the book store not knowing my life was about to change. Back then there was only one shelf of African American books and what other title to buy other than “PIMP.” I got this book thinking it would teach me how to talk to women. I was wrong, but it did teach me that if you say something jazzy enough, slick enough and with enough charisma that women will like you. This book taught me that women like knowing you have other women. So I let them know I’m not on a one girl guy and the girls respected me for it.
4. The Fish – I’m Gonna Get You Sucka came on TV one day and there was dude walking around with gold fish in his shoes. I thought that was so cool. It was here that I learn that what you wear is equally as important as what you say and how you look.
3. Pipe em down – In all pimp pop culture they preach to pipe the trick down one good time and then give the D on your terms. Basically this taught me not to be a fiend for the p*ssy. So why I alway want it, I don’t always have to have it. And in turn the women give it to me more. Go figure.
2. Gorilla Pimps – It was while reading the book Pimp where I learned that men beat their women to control them and make them love them. It was also here that I learn that you don’t need to hit a women to have her love you. It’s better to just let them go if you ever have to put your hands on a woman because a women will get you back. It might be 30 years from the time she was smacked but she will pay you back.
1. All The Way To The Top – The most important thing I learned from pimps was that women are willing to ride with you because they love you. In “The Mack” Goldie told the girl that they can go all the way to the top if she is not afraid. And that is true. Most women are willing to work with you, stand by your side and damn near go through hell all for the sake of love, all for the sake of you. For that she needs to be appreciated.
Throughout all the things I’ve learned I learned then by making mistakes. I was so jaded by the pimp life in my younger days that The Mack replaced my father, The Pimp replaced my brother and the player was me. But growing up and learning more about other people’s feelings I’ve learned that you need to respect your women if you plan on settling down and falling in love.

you know…I live the pimp lifestyle too…because men behave like women (especially in the 08) alot nowadays. Men like competition and they will always try to one up the last dude, especially if they witnessed the last dude possibly layign game down to you. You gotta treat most men with no regard and a whole bunch of attitude for them to find you interesting and challenging. You give them a lil sniff of the Good Good at the right time and with the right tricks and then you never get rid of them. You take them for all they got, and when they start talking that “I dont want you seeing other people” mess…thats when its time to play them to the left and let another green one take his place.
Ladies is pimps too…gon' brush ya shoulders off!!

I read Iceberg Slim and Donald Goines too as a teen… I'm glad you got something positive out of it! …Although, It was fascinating to me to see the mind-control of a pimp; to be able to talk a woman into selling her body (and her WANTING to do it) was just crazy to me!
I seen the Pimps Up hoes down and that's what I could never understand. How do u get a female to sell HER body and give YOU the money. The mind control IS amazing. Just think if those pimps did something else,,,b/c it must definitely be some talents involved with being a pimp. But I read somewhere that the skills it takes to survive on the street are absolutely mind boggling. That if people ever took those skills into the “legit” world (this is where one of our biggest problems lie)…their success would be immeasurable. This is why it should pain us even more when we see people letting their street hustle be their glass ceiling. If you can manage a profitable pimping business u need to be a CEO of a company (No booty selling involved)
ITA with you. Just think of how difficult it is to manage cash and these guys run a cash business. I get so frustrated sometimes when I see the potential in our your brothers and sisters that is not being met, which is why I am a mentor. Hopefully I can make a difference in at least one person.

I've been reading all of Donald Goines' books. I have about 4 more to go.
Finally another woman thats intelligent enough to realize that smart women are the real pimps and The Male pimps have to rely on someone else to get paid.
