A while back I had the chance to chat with Raheem DeVaughn and he had a lot to say about being a father, Erykah Badu & Superhead.
On balancing being on the road and being a father.
It’s stressful at time but mostly on his moms more than me. She ends up carrying a lot of the weight and dealing with the day to day issues with him because he lives with his mother. When he was born I was on the road but I’m looking forward to him getting older so he can travel with me. Its not much demand because when you have an infant its a lot more to manage in these early stages than when he is like 4, 5 or 6.
On Erykah Badu
Erykah Badu, she stands out to me b/c she stuck to the script from day one, like this is what I do, she’ll give you a balance of heartache and loves song but she’ll always figure out how to tie in that lesson, something to enhance your mind and encourage you to pick up a book.
On Lil Wayne’s Song Prostitute
I think that’s his song for Superhead… I heard she wants to marry him, actually I heard she was engaged to a lot of people. Hey man they don’t call her Superhead for nothing. I’m just glad i didn’t make the book.
