Bad Boy Records has a new President and it’s Harve Pierre, yeah the guy singing terribly in one of my favorite Black Rob songs, You Don’t Know Me. Well They’ll know you now. HHNLIVE is reporting Sean Combs as saying:

“Harve’s promotion to President is well deserved” says Combs “he has been with Bad Boy since the beginning and has worked hard to learn all aspects of the business. He has always been an important part of the A&R process and it is only fitting that Bad Boy would house his imprint, Crazy Joint. I look forward to Harve’s continued success.”

Harve has been the play the background guy for years, always there you just might of never really knew his name or heard any dirt about him. But it got me to thinking of the top Play the background dudes of all time.

Dwayne - One of the Pioneers of back ground dudes, he was cool but he was a punk. So quick to scream UN UNNNN. But he sat in his chairs backwards and had a mean fro. He didn’t get much props on the show, he just waited for his turn to speak so he could say. Un–UNNNNN. Dee was more important than him, Rerun gets more love than him. Hell even the cook Shirley.

Cockroach - He played his position like a true background dude. his most memorable moment, was when he shaved his head and of all the places in the world to go… He went to Theo’s house! Hell If I shaved my head I’m going to Lips to cop a fitted w/ the NY on the front! He sort of redeemed himself, by joining the cast of Martin but even then he was dating Big Shirl!!!! Need I say more?

Dudley - He was scared of the Gooch, so he couldn’t help Arnold fight him. I often wondered why they never jumped the Gooch. He never seemed to have an understanding of what was going on. And I’m sure it was his fault why they almost got “touched” by that nasty old man. And besides look at him now?

Lizard Boy - That’s right AJ, the man who looked so funny that even Craig Mack laughed at him. he’s the classic background dude. I firmly believe that he is the main reason why BET is going to hell in a hand basket. Yes, for all the times they showed him on screen w/o showing FREE and her Afro.

Lester - That’s the Lester, (all my old heads know who this is) b/c just like all the people above he was a dummy! and the original Background dude. So this blog is for Lester and the rest of the dummies of the world.
