Growing up on welfare is hard. I’m a Product of the Reagan era, Became an adult in the Clinton years and went broke due to the new Bush. But I’ve adapted to life w/ little money. I compiled a list of 10 things you can do to live the good live while being broke.

10. Food Stamps - Chinese Restaurants take food stamps, so not only can you get a hot meal, you can cash them in to get cash.

9. Custom TV Stands, That big tv which stop working years ago will make a perfect tv stand for the little tv w/ the wire hanger in the back of it.

8. Paid Per View - A Pair of pliers, and knowing where your cable box can get you the regular channels. BET, MTV, Sportscenter and Bravo. For all of those who like to watch Project Runway.

7. Hot Sauce - Hot Sauce will make anything taste like a gourmet meal, from Ramen noodles to Regular chips. A little hot sauce goes a long way.

6. Loosies - In the hood you can get one of almost anything. One single cigarette, to a piece of aluminum foil. God Bless the bodegas

5. Extension cords - Light go out? Just hook up about 5 extension cords and plug them into a neighbors house and you’re good until your next check comes.

4.Things Change In The Winter - I know up top that you don’t have to pay your light, gas bill in the winter b/c the gas company can’t turn your shit off!!! Fuck y’all i’ll pay y’all in MARCH!!

3. Someone elses Kid - It’s Tax time, you know Shaqueesha hasn’t worked all year…. Claim her kids give her a couple hundred and you’re good. Cha CHING!!!

2. The Bootleg man - The bootleg man is just as broke as you, so you can always talk him down or get the hook up on the 2 for 5’s.

1. The side hustle - Everyone has a side hustle in the hood, doing hair in the kitchen, to selling knock off pocket books w/ the printed out brochure. A side hustle is a must.
